Since 2013’s The Conjuring premiered, people from all around the world started to love this new kind of horror that James Wan has been bringing fr us, and thanks to the good reception the first film had, we’ve already had 2 more movies in the same universe, which means we are getting a full-on The Conjuring universe, mostly now that we’ll be getting a second spinoff based on widely popular (and last minute added) character from The Conjuring 2, The Nun.
Now, the latest news about this 2018 movie is that Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight, Alien: Covenant) has been cast to star in the movie, in the role of a priest named Father Burke.
“[…]a priest named Father Burke who is dispatched by Rome to investigate a mysterious death of a nun.”
As of right now, information about the plot of the film has been kept under wraps, but at least we have some slight idea about what might be happening by knowing about Father Burke’s mission.
Scripted by Gary Dauberman and James Wan, and produced by Wan and Peter Safran, The Nun gives the spotlight to the demonic nun who menaced Vera Farmiga’s character throughout The Conjuring 2. The Nun will shoot this summer in Romania and debut in theaters July 13, 2018.
