Unboxing Sid Meier’s Civilization VI 25th Anniversary Edition

Sid Meier’s has debuted a special 25th Anniversary Edition of Civilization VI, which comes with not only the full game and DLCs, but a few special trinkets to add as a collection. The price tag may have been high, but the rewards are worth it.

As a huge fan of the Civilization games, I just couldn’t pass up a deal to pick up the 25th Anniversary Edition, and I quite eagerly picked through it to see all the amazing features it comes with.

The Art-Book

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI 25th Anniversary Edition touches tribute on the previous Civilization games we have grown to love. Among the games include Civilization (1991), Civilization II (1996), Civilization III (2001), Civilization IV (2005), Civilization V (2010), and of course the new-comer, Civilization VI (2016). These tributes can be found in the Sid Meier’s Civilization Through the Years art-book.

Included in the art-book is also detailed images of the new leaders in Civilization VI, and some nation specific attributes.

The Coin Set

The commemorative coins that came along in the 25th Anniversary Edition include six-character coins throughout the six Civilization games. Among them is Alexander the Great (Ancient Greece) from Civilization (1991), Ramesses (Ancient Egypt) from Civilization II (1996), Queen Elizabeth (England) from Civilization III (2001), Napoleon Bonaparte (France) from Civilization IV (2005), George Washington (United States of America) from Civilization V (2010), and lastly Montezuma (Aztec) from Civilization VI (2016).

All in all, though the price tag was large for the Sid Meier’s Civilization VI 25th Anniversary Edition, it was only a bit larger than the Digital Deluxe that was available. I purchased mine through Best Buy for $89.99, while their Digital Deluxe was $79.99. Of course the Digital Deluxe is available on Steam as well for the same price.
