Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Announced

You may or may not realize this, but Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Desilets was fired by Ubisoft a couple years ago. Now, he’s back with his own indie studio, Panache Digital Games, to bring us Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.

Desilets attended the Reboot Develop conference in Croatia today, where he announced Ancestors and showed a teaser trailer, which you can see below.

As you can see, the video shows us some important events in human history, including a mysterious one: The Missing Link. Ancestors wants to bring us “the greatest adventure of all — our own.” More specifically, the game hopes to bring a third person, action-adventure, survival, episodic game with a AAA feel and a documentary-style twist. It seems like a very unique idea, yet we don’t know much about it. More info will come this year.

The tagline, “one idea away from extinction or evolution” excites me; it sounds like a new, intriguing, unique vision. I can’t wait to see what it becomes! How about you?

No word yet on when Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey will release or for what platforms.
