The well awaited sequel that takes us to the world of a living Vampire Lord fighting against the famed Belmont Clan, which keep seeking for Dracula’s ultimate destruction, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, is set to release next week; to be more specific, next Tuesday, February 25.
Developed by MercurySteam, and published by KONAMI, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 follows the story of the first game, bringing Dracula back, with diminished powers as a result of his battles with Alucard and Simon, but never giving up against his opponents.
I got my hands on a short part of the game, played for around 30 minutes, and believe me, the game looks really good. During these 30 minutes of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, I was kicking some warriors’ butts pretty much the entire time. I can say that if you’re looking for some hardcore action, and plenty of fighting, this game is for you.
You’ll most definitely be involved in plenty of battles, but of course, you will never have numerical advantage. You’ll always have to battle against plenty of opponents, but let’s be honest, they are in a huge disadvantage, in the end, they’re fighting against the Vampire Lord.
During my time playing the game, I got three different weapons to use:the Blood Whip, the Void Sword, and the Chaos Claws. Each one of these weapons will help Dracula defeat his opponents by causing some quite intensive injuries in them, stealing their life, and destroying their protection.
Oh, there’s one more ability of Dracula that I didn’t mention… he’s a vampire, meaning that he can drink the blood of his opponents and, so, … well, you get the idea, don’t you?
If you’re planning on getting this game, all I can say is that it will be a good investment. Graphically it looks amazing, even though the game closed on me whenever I tried to change its resolution to run it in 1080p. It looks great at 720p, and you can be sure that you’ll find plenty of action in the game, accompanied by some great soundtrack and sound effects. One recommendation, though! If you’re planning on getting Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 for PC, get a controller, else, you’ll end up constantly going to the menu in order to find out which button does what… over and over again.
